What to Check When Your Tableware Delivery Arrives
A receiving checklist for checking cartons, item sizes, quantities and damage before tableware goes into event stock.
When tableware arrives, compare the cartons with your order before you put them into storage. Check the labels, sizes, quantities and visible condition. Keep the paperwork and photos together so you can explain any issue clearly.
A receiving check in five steps
- Match the address and order. Check the delivery note or invoice against the order you approved. Put the order number on your receiving sheet.
- Count cartons. Record the number received before cartons are moved around the store.
- Read each item label. Confirm the sizes: a 7-inch plate and a 10-inch plate are different items, as are the 120 ml and 250 ml cups.
- Check visible damage. Look for crushed, wet or open cartons. Photograph the outer carton and label before opening a damaged one, then photograph affected items.
- Check a few pieces. Open a carton from each item group and compare the product with what you ordered. Record any shortage or mismatch.
| What you find | Useful record |
|---|---|
| Carton count differs | Photo of all cartons and delivery note |
| Wrong size or item | Label photo and a photo of the product beside the order |
| Wet or crushed carton | Photos before and after opening, with affected-piece count |
| Count appears short | Carton label, quantity counted and the packing information |
Keep the stock ready for service
Store unopened cartons in a clean, dry space away from water and damp walls. Keep size labels visible. If an event is close, place the checked event stock in one area so it is not taken for another job. Our storage guide explains why dry storage matters for plant-fibre tableware.
If you find a problem, contact Aura Farmers promptly with the order details and photos. The current refund policy and shipping policy explain the applicable reporting process and terms. Keep those pages with the written order rather than relying on a deadline from an older article.
For the next purchase, use the bulk procurement checklist to confirm the item list and carton details before dispatch. If you need help with an arriving order, contact us and share the order reference, item names and photos.
